Bisnis Indonesia - Infrastruktur jalan: Sumsel akselerasi lelang proyek
Bisnis, Palembang – South Sumatra Provincial Government is aiming to accelerate project tenders as road condition in the region has declined from 93.6% in 2022 to 88.15% in 2023.
Acting South Sumatra Governor Agus Fatoni said that his agency would immediately handle the issue, one of the solutions is tender process acceleration.
He reckoned that the effort would make road works in Palembang commence immediately.
“Then, we will conduct the activities as a team. We will not use the fiscal year system, so we can carry them over to the next year. We will also analyse, evaluate, continuously monitor, and carry out control to ensure that the planned activities could be realised excellently,” he explained on Wednesday (3/1).
South Sumatra Highways and Spatial Planning Agency Head M. Affandi explained that the decline in South Sumatra’s road condition was caused by the increase in roads being handled by the province.
He explained that the length of roads currently managed by the province reached 1,779 kilometres (km). Previously, the length of roads handled by the province only reached 1,500 km. “There is an increase, so the percentage went down.”
This year, he added that there will be no increase in road handovers from the regency or the city to the province. Hence, road condition in 2024 is expected to surpass 90%.
He added that his agency was currently completing the road construction from East Cempaka Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU) to SP 1 Tanah Abang Ogan Komering Ilir (OKI) Regency. His agency is also currently handing over a provincial road to be a national road, which is Jalan Noerdin Pandji near SMB II Airport in Palembang.
