Jakarta, ID – I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport in Bali became the managed airport of PT Angkasa Pura I (AP I) with the highest number of passenger traffic throughout 2023. The airport recorded 21,454,012 passenger movements.

The number significantly grew 71% from 12,523,546 movements in 2022.

AP I’s management highlighted that the recovery rate of passenger movements at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport in Bali in 2023 reached 89% of the realisation in 2019.

“The high number of passenger movements at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport in Bali is a sign that the people’s interest in traveling is recovering. Surely, Bali is an increasingly attractive tourism destination,” AP I President Director Indah Preastuty in Jakarta on Monday (22/1/2024).

I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport in Bali recorded a total of 21,454,012 passenger movements, with 9,918,573 on domestic routes and 11,535,439 on international routes.

“One of the aspects that must be highlighted is that I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport in Bali is the only AP I airport that has higher international route passenger movements than its domestic route. The number of international route passenger movements from and to Bali in 2023 grew 83%,” Indah Preastuty added.

Throughout 2023, I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport in Bali served 57 flight routes consisting of 20 domestic routes served by 11 airlines and 37 international routes served by 37 airlines.

Throughout 2023, AP I served 69,835,714 passenger movements at 15 of their managed airports. This number grew 34% from 52,286,976 passenger movements in 2022.

The number of aircrafts as well as cargo movements also grew in 2023. Regarding the number of aircrafts, the 15 AP I airports served 608,549 aircraft movements, which grew 10% from 552,851 movements in 2022. Meanwhile, regarding cargo movements, AP I served 481,488 tonnes of cargo, which grew 4% from 464,433 tonnes of cargo in 2022.
