Bisnis Indonesia - Angkutan lebaran: InJourney Airports bakal layani 10,8 juta
21 March 2025
Bisnis, Tangerang – PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia, also known as InJourney Airports, projects that air transportation during the 2025 Eid holiday period will surpass levels seen before the Covid-19 pandemic.
The President Director of InJourney Airports, Faik Fahmi, stated that all airports are expected to serve around 10.8 million air passengers, an increase of 9% compared to the 2024 Eid transportation period.
"With the projection of 10.8 million passengers that we will serve, if we compare it with the period before the Covid-19 pandemic in 2019, it is already higher," he said at Terminal 1 of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Cengkareng, Tangerang, on Thursday (20/3).
Faik explained that the increase in the number of air passengers during the 2025 Eid holiday period is partly supported by the work from anywhere (WFA) policy implemented by the Ministry of Transportation.
Faik also claimed that Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Cengkareng experienced an increase of around 12% year on year (YoY), which is higher compared to the national passenger growth. According to him, Soekarno-Hatta Airport passengers will reach 3.5 million during the 2025 Eid transportation period.
"In fact, if we compare it with the pre-Covid-19 pandemic year of 2019, it has increased by 17%. This means that traffic is now normal, recovered, and back to pre-Covid-19 levels," he explained.
However, Faik acknowledged that the number of aircraft remains an issue amidst the increase in passenger numbers.
The number of aircraft in Indonesia is said to have not fully recovered compared to before the pandemic.
To address this, InJourney Airports will operate its 37 airports 24 hours a day. This is expected to be utilised by airlines to maximise airport utility and operations.
