Meanwhile, the Deputy Chair of Commission V of the House of Representatives (DPR), Syaiful Huda, hopes that the Ministry of Public Works will ensure that the ongoing road repair work can proceed optimally and be completed soon so that the roads are in good condition and free of potholes to avoid accidents, "D-10 is expected to have no more work," he stressed.
Priority repair points
Separately, the Minister of Public Works, Dody Hanggodo, inspected several national road sections in East Java Province on Saturday (15/3) as part of the preparations for the homecoming traffic during Eid 2025. In addition to toll roads, he also checked the infrastructure conditions on the main route Jombang-Mojokerto-Surabaya, including the Mastrip Road in Jombang, which is one of the priority repair points.
The Ministry of Public Works, through the East Java-Bali BBPJN, is currently carrying out minor rehabilitation work on the Mastrip Road in Jombang along 1.7 km of the total length of 2 km. In addition to ensuring the road remains functional, this repair is also carried out to support the readiness of the homecoming route during Eid 2025 to be safe and comfortable for road users.
In his inspection, Minister Dody emphasised that budget efficiency should not hinder the performance of national road preservation.
"Carry out the work economically but maintain the quality of implementation. Look for innovative financing schemes to help maintain the stability of national roads, for example through CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility)," said Minister Dody.
Based on data from the East Java-Bali BBPJN as of 14 March 2025, pothole repairs on national road sections in East Java have been carried out since 1 January 2025 and have reached 11,775 points out of a total of 11,868 identified points. The remaining 93 points are still in the process of being repaired and are targeted to be completed by D-10 Eid.
Overall, the length of national roads in the northern cross of East Java reaches 227.52 km, while the length of national roads in the central cross stretches 97.04 km. With ongoing repair efforts, it is hoped that the homecoming route in East Java will be ready to serve the public in better and safer conditions.
