Bisnis, Jakarta – PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk is dedicated to finalising six dam projects that are classified as national strategic projects under the administration of President Prabowo Subianto.

These six dams are part of the National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN) for 2025-2029, as specified in Presidential Regulation (Perpres) No. 12 of 2025.

This regulation identifies 16 national strategic projects (PSNs), which include dam projects. Among these, WSKT is currently engaged in six PSNs: Jragung Dam, Bener Dam, Mbay Dam, Tiga Dihaji Dam, Karangnongko Dam, and Cibeet Dam.

Ermy Puspa Yunita, the Corporate Secretary of PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk (WSKT), disclosed the current status of the construction progress for these six dam projects.

Jragung Dam is nearing completion, with the current progress exceeding 87%.

Furthermore, Ermy noted that the construction progress of Bener Dam has reached 64.25%, while Mbay Dam has achieved 74.86%.

In contrast, the construction progress of Tiga Dihaji Dam, Karangnongko Dam, and Cibeet Dam remains below 50%. Nonetheless, Ermy confirmed that all these projects are advancing according to schedule.

"We are dedicated to finishing all these projects on schedule and with high standards, ensuring they can be utilised and appreciated by the community," stated Ermy in an official announcement on Monday (10/3).

She highlighted that dams are multifunctional projects, offering numerous positive benefits.

For instance, Jragung Dam in Central Java provides water to an irrigation area of 4,528 hectares (ha) in Demak and Grobogan Regencies.

This dam is anticipated to boost agricultural production to three planting cycles, thereby enhancing national food security. Additionally, with a storage capacity of 90 million cubic meters (m³), the dam contributes to energy security by having the potential to function as a micro-hydro power plant.
