Jakarta – Potential contractor of contract packages CP202 and CP205A of Jakarta MRT project phase 2 is submitting a new bid price after the visit of Transportation Minister, Budi Kary Sumadi, to Japan at the start of September 2021. The CP202 package is a construction package from Harmoni to Mangga Besar, while CP205A is a system and trackwork construction package from Bundaran HI to Mangga Besar.

PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) President Director, William Sabandar, said that, previously, CP202 and CP205A failed to be tendered two times. After that, the contractor is decided to be directly appointed as soon as it is approved by the governments of Japan and Indonesia. However, he said that the bid price from the potential contractor is too high compared to the estimated price of PT MRT Jakarta.

“The purpose of the Transportation Minister’s visit to Japan is to provide a facilitation as the offer from the contractor is too high from the estimated price of MRT Jakarta,” William said during the online MRT Jakarta Journalist Forum on Thursday (30/9).

He said that the Transportation Minister visited Japan to approach the Japanese government to reach an agreement on the price. So, the estimated price can be in line with the price that has been set by PT MRT Jakarta that has been supported by a technical design.

“After the visit of the Transportation Minister yesterday, a new bid price was submitted yesterday. A new bid price has been submitted by the candidate. They have submitted a final proposal with a new bid price, we will carry out the evaluation this week,” William stated.

However, he still cannot reveal the price offered nor the decision of PT MRT Jakarta as it is still in the evaluation process. He predicts that, next week, there will be a decision from the evaluation to be announced immediately to the public.

“We are still in the proposal evaluation process due to the revision conducted by the contractor. We hope that, if all are in line with the regulations and the conditions set by MRT Jakarta, then the contract signing for CP202 and CP205A can be conducted this October,” William revealed.

Meanwhile, he added that the construction progress of CP202 package of Jakarta MRT phase 2 had reached 21.33% as of 25 September 2021. Moreover, the construction activity includes the construction of railway tracks and stations from Thamrin to Monas.

“For Thamrin Station, the construction has reached the d-wall construction stage at the area where we will lower the TBM (tunnel boring machine). When the TBM arrives, as it is currently in the mobilisation process, we will see if the TBM will be lowered at Thamrin or Monas,” he stated.

Besides that, the construction progress of CP203 package has reached 0.29% as of 25 September 2021. According to William, for the package, traffic engineering has been conducted, construction fences has been installed, utilities have been relocated on schedule, traffic impact study (andalalin) coordination has been carried out with local citizens around the construction project, and technical recommendation has been provided for tree felling where replacement trees are being prepared to be planted.
