Daisuke is a senior tax partner and most recently was a co-leader of the Japanese Business Network (JBN) for the UK and EMEA region. Prior to this role, he was the Global JBN Tax Leader for the PwC Japan Group, and a board member of the tax firm responsible for the firm’s overall direction and strategy. He was also the leader of Japan’s transfer pricing practice until June 2020.

He joined Coopers & Lybrand (currently PricewaterhouseCoopers LLC) in 1991 and became a partner in 2002. During his career of more than thirty years at the firm, he spent four years working in the Washington DC and New York offices between 1995 and 1998, where he focused on delivering transfer pricing services to Japanese companies with operations in the United States. He was seconded to PwC UK from September 2022 to December 2024 as a JBN co-leader for the UK and EMEA region.

Daisuke has written extensively in various publications and is a frequent speaker at seminars held by PwC and outside organisations. He was chosen as one of the world’s leading transfer pricing consultants by International Tax Review and Euromoney Legal Media Group.

He is also an associate member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He writes and is fluent in both Japanese and English.
