M&A Advisory
Taizo Iwashima is a Partner of PwC India’s Japanese Business Desk. He has been on secondment from PwC Japan to India since October 2023. After joining Aoyama Audit Corporation (Price Waterhouse Japan) in 1991, Taizo handled auditing for a large listed chemical manufacturer and a multinational IT company for seven years in the firm’s Tokyo office before being relocated to PwC’s San Jose office (US) for three years from 1998. While in the US, Taizo was in charge of auditing and providing IPO support services for Japanese companies and high-tech US companies located along the West Coast. After returning to Tokyo in 2001, he joined the Deals practice of the PwC Japan Group, where he specialised in M&A advisory services such as financial due diligence, post deal services, financial advisory and deals strategy. As a Deals Advisory partner, Taizo has gained an abundant amount of cross-border M&A experience.
He has also experienced a number of leadership roles at PwC Japan Group, such as COO of Advisory, Deals Market Leader, Corporate Finance Leader and Deals Strategy Leader. In addition, Taizo served as the India Desk Leader of PwC Japan from 2011 through 2017.
Furthermore, in recent years before his international assignment to India, Taizo took on multiple roles at PwC Japan Group, including Global Lead Account Partner of one of PwC’s Global 200 priority clients, PwC’s JBN (Japan Business Network) APAC Regional Leader and as a board member of PwC Japan Group.
