Tax – Japanese Business Consulting
Lau speaks and writes fluent Japanese, and provides support to Japanese clients on their investments and operations in Malaysia, in particular on local regulatory and tax requirements. He has over 22 years of extensive experience in providing consulting advisory services to Japanese investors on incorporation of new local entities in Malaysia; application for licences, approvals and permits for their operations in Malaysia; and on equity conditions, tax incentives and expatriate posts.
He assisted in providing consulting and support services for business/tax feasibility studies, operational restructuring, human resources management, general tax planning, liquidation process, etc. He supports Japanese clients by working closely with the Tax team to provide advisory support to Japanese clients on corporate and personal tax matters, transfer pricing and tax audits; and with the Advisory team on restructuring advisory, share valuation, financial and tax due diligence services.
He bridges the communication and cultural gap between Japanese clients and their appointed lawyers, HR consultants, company secretary through liaison and coordination support services.
