Global Crisis Survey 2021: Building resilience for the future (Japan insight edition)

2022-09-07

No one could have predicted the social and economic disruption that COVID-19 has caused since it first began to spread across the globe in 2020. The pandemic’s unpredictability has meant that each business’s reaction to the crisis is a keen reflection of that organisation’s crisis response capabilities.

In PwC’s second Global Crisis Survey, we analyse corporate actions taken in order to overcome the COVID-19 crisis, with the aim of delivering insight into the state of crisis management and response across key regions and industries. We also highlight the characteristics of corporations that not only respond to the crisis at hand, but proactively learn from their experience with crises and use resilience strategies to strengthen their corporate value.

In the Japan insight edition of the Global Crisis Survey, we also compare the COVID-19 responses of Japanese companies to those of companies from around the world, and examine from various perspectives what actions Japanese companies need to take in order to prepare for the next crisis—which may be just around the corner.
