The Future of Vehicle Security

In recent years, by being connected to various networks, cars have become more convenient. However, this has also caused cars to become vulnerable to various cyber-attacks.

Automakers and auto-parts suppliers are addressing this issue by implementing various cyber security countermeasures, especially in their vehicle development practices. Various authorities and industry organizations have provided policies and guidelines on vehicle cybersecurity. Among these, cybersecurity regulation by the UNECE WP.29, and the international standard ISO/SAE 21434 are considered to be of particular importance.

This report provides an overview of the WP.29 vehicle cybersecurity regulation and relevant cybersecurity measures to be implemented in the future based on ISO/SAE 21434.
