PricewaterhouseCoopers Japan LLC (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative: Takaaki Ino, Chief Executive Officer) today announces that it has selected Masataka Kubota as its next Chief Executive Officer, and it is planned that he will take office on 1 July 2024. Although Takaaki Ino is scheduled to step down at the end of his term on 30 June 2024, he will continue to serve at PricewaterhouseCoopers Japan LLC as a Partner.
Masataka Kubota, said:
“As social uncertainty increases, the need for trust is increasing day by day. In my opinion, auditing firms are playing an increasingly important role in society in this sense. As auditing has formed one of the foundations of society, we will increase our efficiency and pursue greater quality by, for example, leveraging technology. It is my belief that we will be further required to provide society at large with the broad know-how we have acquired in conducting high-quality audits, which includes our know-how in digital technologies and non-financial information. This applies not just to audits but to other services as well. As we advance, we will build a forward-looking auditing firm capable of meeting society’s expectations together with our stakeholders.”
Takaaki Ino, Chief Executive Officer said:
“No matter how drastically capital markets change, it is necessary to ensure that they are trusted in order that Japan’s national economy may develop in a healthy way. Against the backdrop of the globalization of Japan’s capital markets, we have been working to conduct audits that meet the expectations of international investors.
