Jakarta, ID – President Joko Widodo said that the 42 national strategic projects (PSNs) anticipated to remain unfinished by the end of his term in 2024 would be continued.
“Yes, they will be continued,” Jokowi said during the inauguration of Pamulang-Cinere-Raya Bogor Toll Road at Limo Utama Toll Gate in Depok on Monday (8/1/2024).
The 42 PSNs worth Rp1,427.36 trillion are still ongoing.
Freeway Director of the Highways Directorate General of the Public Works and Housing (PUPR) Ministry Triono Junoasmono said that the main challenge in completing the PSNs was the land acquisition aspect. A problematic land acquisition process will slow down a PSN’s completion, so it will not be able to achieve its inauguration target.
“The primary [challenge] is land acquisition. Our initial one-year target may experience delays,” Triono who is familiarly called Yongki said.
Hence, the PUPR Ministry is continuously cooperating with the State Asset Management Agency (LMAN) so that the PSNs can be completed in accordance with their set targets.
Furthermore, he revealed that, out of the 42 PSNs that are predicted to remain unfinished this year, there were several toll road projects. For example, Yongki mentioned that there was Serang-Panimbang Toll Road that was delayed to 2025 due to land acquisition issues.
“It is not that they will not be completed, but they will be completed after 2024. For example, Serang-Panimbang [Toll Road] was set [to be completed] in 2024, but there were several problems and financing [issues]. So, we moved it to 2025,” Yongki said.
He explained that there were several toll road projects that are no longer PSNs. However, some of them are still PSNs even though they will only be completed after 2024.
As of 4 October 2023, a total of 170 PSNs have been completed with a combined value of Rp1,299.41 trillion. Additionally, there are 61 projects that are currently in the construction phase.
Jokowi forecasts that 25 PSNs with an investment value of Rp151.58 trillion will be inaugurated between the start of this year until 20 October 2024.
One of the PSNs that will be inaugurated by President Jokowi is Pamulang-Cinere-Raya Bogor Toll Road. The inauguration of Limo Utama Toll Gate marks the meeting of two toll segments, namely section 3 of Cinere-Jagorawu (Cijago) Toll Road and section 2 of Serpong-Cinere (Sercin) Toll Road.
