Jakarta (Antara) – The Nusantara Capital City Authority (OIKN) revealed that the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) views Nusantara Capital City (IKN) as a strategic project with significant potential, and there is potential funding from AIIB for IKN of up to 1 billion US dollars.

"We are optimistic that with the support of AIIB and other strategic partners, and by taking into account the valuable input from this meeting, we can realise IKN as a modern, green, and inclusive capital city," said the Head of OIKN, M. Basuki Hadimuljono, in Jakarta on Friday.

OIKN welcomed the President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), H.E. Jin Liqun, and his delegation to discuss potential funding and collaboration in the development of IKN.

This meeting marks an important step in realising the vision of IKN as a smart and sustainable city.

In this meeting, Basuki detailed the potential strategic projects in IKN and the funding schemes that will be implemented.

The main focus of the presentation was the development of IKN as the political capital city of the state for the 2025-2029 period. This includes the construction of parliamentary buildings and their supporting ecosystems, which are priorities in relocating the government centre to IKN.

"We presented various strategic projects that will be developed in IKN, focusing on the development of core infrastructure that supports the target of IKN as the political capital of the state by 2028. Additionally, we explained the funding schemes we will use, which include a combination of state budget (APBN) funding, private investment, public-private partnership (PPP), and creative financing," said Basuki.

The meeting also discussed the importance of clarity in the stages of IKN development over the next five years, as well as the need for the integration of social and commercial housing in the Central Government Core Area (KIPP) to create vibrancy and dynamics.

The OIKN is currently coordinating with the Ministry of National Development Planning/National Development Planning Agency (PPN/Bappenas) to ensure that all relevant IKN projects are included in the bluebook.
