Jakarta – State-owned Enterprise (SOE) Minister, Erick Thohir, will allocate 100% of the commercial area in Benoa Port in Bali to accommodate products and works of local businesses.

“I have also forecasted that, when the development of Benoa Port by Pelindo is finished, I will allocate 100% of the commercial area in Benoa Port to accommodate products and works of local businesses to promote and sell their products,” Erick Thohir said in his official statement in Jakarta on Monday (20/9).

According to the SOE Minister, with the main duties and functions of the SOE Ministry for MSMEs or new entrepreneurs, the support that can be provided include funding, market access, and logistics.

There are several SOEs that can support the advancement of the creative economy industry and MSMEs, so they can also become mentors so that the business sector that drives the economy at the lowest level can function excellently.

“We will improve infrastructure, such as toll road construction, because logistics costs in Indonesia are still expensive. It can reach 26%, while other Asian countries only reach 15%. If logistics are expensive, the competitive value will also be expensive. Regarding funding, SOEs have an ultra-micro holding that consists of BRI, Pegadaian, and Penanaman Modal Madani that can facilitate loans worth around Rp1 million to Rp4 million with low interest rates,” Erick Thohir stated.

Meanwhile, regarding market access, the SOE Ministry have the MSME Digital Market platform. Based on a principle that a business cannot stand on its own, the MSME Digital Market platform now accommodates almost 10 thousand MSMEs in a marketplace that can be accessed by SOEs to fulfil their needs through MSMEs.

“With MSME Digital Market, all parties, including SOEs, private companies, MSMEs, and other business sectors, will cooperate so that all can benefit. With Digital Market, MSMEs will be directly integrated with the OSS (One Stop Service) of the Investment Ministry and can secure certifications from the Industry Ministry easier,” Erick Thohir said as quoted by Antara.

The benefit of Digital Market can already be enjoyed by Penenunan Astiti from Geigei Village in Klungkung that is mentored by Telkom in the digital marketing sector. The Endek and Songket cloth business managed by Nyoman Sudasa, 73 years old, benefited from MSME Digital Market as it secured online transactions worth Rp13 million in the last month.

Previously, PT Pelabuhan Indonesia III (Persero) President Director, Boy Robyanto, said that the development of Benoa Port in Bali that used the Bali Maritime Tourism Hub (BMTH) concept would be finished in the middle of 2023. Boy said that, out of the 16 construction packages planned, they were currently working on the fifth package, while several packages were already 100% finished.
