Michito Kitamura has been a partner at PwC Legal Japan since April 2016. Prior to joining PwC Legal Japan, he worked for one of the largest law firms in Japan for 15 years (of which 5 years were as a partner). He works primarily in the fields of corporate law, tax law, wealth management and ESG. He has extensive experience in legal and tax consulting services relating to a variety of transactions such as M&A, financial structures, and business restructuring. In addition, he has extensive experience in representing and supporting clients in tax litigation at all court levels in Japan and foreign countries. Recently, he has also dealt with legal consulting services related to ESG/sustainability and new technologies.
Michito Kitamura has been active in the Japan Institute of Certified Public Accountants and has served as an expert on the committee on international taxation. He has also been a lecturer on tax policy at Hitotsubashi University’s School of International and Public Policy from 2011 to the present.
