調査方法
PwC「第18回世界CEO意識調査」では、2014年の第4四半期（9月～12月初旬）に世界77カ国において1,322名のインタビューを実施しました。地域ごとの内訳は、アジア太平洋459（日本を含む）、西欧330、北米147、中南米167、中東欧125、中東・アフリカ94となっています。
日本のCEOからは郵送調査により合計で162の回答を得ており（調査期間：2014年10月～11月）、本レポートにおける日本の回答に関する分析には、この162の回答を集計した結果を用いています。世界全体（1,322）を集計する際には、GDP比換算により、この162の回答のうち売上規模上位の80社の回答を含めています。
また、本冊子では「アジア太平洋地域」については、特に断りのない限り、前述の日本の回答数80を含めない回答数379にて集計しています（注：前回（第17回）の日本分析版レポートでは含まれていました）。一方で、中国・香港は引き続き含まれています（全体で175、うち139をアジア太平洋地域に含めています）
なお、調査時点の円ドル為替レートは、116.21円（2014年11月、月中平均）、日経平均株価は17,179.03円（2014年11月、月中平均）でした。前回調査の時点では、それぞれ100.02円（2013年11月）と14,931.74円（2013年11月）です。
